I celebrated Easter with my family and all I got was a lousy chest cold

Tis sadly too true, although when I say it that way it makes me sound even more sarcastic than I actually am. It was a nice relaxing weekend with an awesome home cooked meal, decent weather, a good old dog to give rump rubs to, and both curling and hockey to watch with my stepdad, so no complaints here. Also while it would be more pleasant than a chest cold its not like I need chocolate, especially given that I'd like to drop twenty pounds. So with that introspective navel gazing aside let me just say to all who celebrate that I hope you all had a Happy Easter! :-)

So, no, nothing more I want to say right now, mainly because I'm a strange combination of mellow and hacking up lung crud, so I'm just going to end it here.

Stay classy world.

May the Fourth be with you, everyone!

Yeah, I know. It's an absolutely ridiculous made up holiday but if it brings anyone joy and happiness, than it's all good!

And in weather news my apartment's temperature is reminding me of Chennai. Are we also going to get a hot summer to go with that rather nasty winter? Me has to wonder if it be so.

You know you live in Northern Ontario when....

....the breakfast conversation is about the need to keep one's pets indoors because of all the timber wolves coming around to eat the local buffalo.

I'm not making that up. People farm bison here and where there's livestock....

I got to hand it to the Americans

I still say India beats both Canada & the US in terms of audience participation when it comes to fireworks* but America really knows how to bring the noise every July 4th.  I felt some of those blasts in my core.

Hope everyone had a great July First and Fourth Weekend!

*Chennai during Diwali looked like CNN's footage of Baghdad on the first night of Desert Storm. Supposedly some flights have to change their approaches on those nights.
