I'm sure he needed new pants anyway...

Here's a video showing the beauty of Northern Ontario in the winter. The snow on the trees, the special shade of light the sky has, and most of all the patience and skill that makes Canadians the best and safest winter drivers in the world. I mean, really, two inches Atlanta? You shut down your city for two inches? Tsk, tsk. That's not even a reduction in the average speed of travel here.

On the bright side the OPP have apparently identified the driver and laid charges. With that in mind now might be a good time to buy stock in dash cams. And trousers. And underwear. And car upholstry.

Well, technically, they didn't shut down for two inches of snow, they shut down because none of them could *drive* in two inches of snow. :)

Granted, NC has no room to talk, but we at least had the sense to brine the roads *before* the storm got here.

We had a family vacation in rural NC a few summers back and the unanimous feeling was "beautiful country but winter driving would be terrifying". Not only were guardrails noticeably absent in places but there is nowhere to push the snow off the road to create a snowbank.

I was actually surprised Atlanta didn't just shut down non-essential movement for that. There's no disgrace in doing that when the snowfall is beyond whatever the local capacity for removal and road treatment is.
