Greetings LJ Hive Mob! I have a question for you!

I was just speaking to my mother and apparently my family is thinking of getting me a Kindle for my birthday. I'm thinking its a cool gift but I'd like to have your experiences, both good and bad, about it before telling family members to go ahead with their plan if its not going to be very effective or useful.

As an English Lit student my main reading usually includes (in pretty much this order):
    1 Novels
    2 Textbooks
    3 PDFs
    4 Other material (often non-fiction)

So, what do you think, Hive Mob? Is the Kindle the best thing since strained gruel or is it overhyped?

Brutal honesty appreciated. Thanks!

Peter Forsberg of the Colorado Avalanche has finally decided to call it quits after 13 seasons and God knows how many surgeries on his foot.

I'm sad that he never managed to get that fixed since he's been a fantastic player ever since he broke Canada's heart at Lillehammer.  I know Joe Sakic is the guy most people think of when they think of "Best Avalanche player ever" but Forsberg was not second banana, not with his skill set.

Well, its not the ending he wanted I'm sure but we'll see him around next year when the Avs retire #21 and then again in three years when the Hall of Fame inducts him. He's not only got the silverware and stats but he also made the teams he went to much better...unlike a certain player he was traded for early in his career.

Yeah, anyway you cut it Quebec/Colorado won that trade.  :-)
