Tonight while enjoying a nice evening walk I saw an absolutely gorgeous, obviously well fed Red Fox step up from a creek bed, look at me, and then mosy on back down for a drink. Considering he was only about ten feet away I was really bummed I didn't have my camera, since it would have made a really nice picture.

Oh well. At least it was a fox that was only ten feet away. When its Black Bears and Raccoons getting that close my thoughts are not nearly that picturesque. :-)

We've got a couple of inches on the ground and more on the way.  Oh well, that is the Canadian experience, is it not?

*sigh*

For all my people facing the onslaught of our seasonal ice age make sure you get your warm blankets, candles, granola, gloves and tuque in your car in case you get stuck, and put those two bags of kitty litter in the trunk. Now is that time of year where you're gonna need them, especially if you get stranded somewhere.

It was averaging around -25 C. Not that I'm remembering places like Vizag with nostalgia but that is just way too cold.

I have a feeling that this might be a really heavy winter this year. It's not even halfway through January and we've had to declare a state of emergency and call out the miltary.

This is why you want a survival kit in your car. It could make all the difference.

....not as loud as I thought it might be. I was originally planning to turn the Christmas volume up to 11 but instead decided my head would appreciate some more mellow jazz.

So in that vein here is a nice jazz piece reminding us that Christmas is for everyone, even those who are supremely evil:

And to add to the jazzy goodness here is some Leon Redbone, asking the question I want to say "YES! ABSOLUTELY!!!" to:

And finally because it feels like we are a few degrees above absolutely zero lets finish off by adding some Dean Martin to the mix:

I just got back from the grocery store and while I like the idea of walking around to lose weight I have to confess that the -20 C temperatures make it a less than pleasant experience.

Makes me shake my head in wonder that six months ago I was dealing with +45 C in New Delhi but it certainly could be worse.

I could be living in Winnipeg! :-p

In honour of the freezing cold temps here's some Randy Bachman and Neil Young for your amusement:
