So apparently smashing the skull of a family pet and scrawling "Liberal" on its corpse passes for rational political dialogue within the mind of of whoever did this. Obviously all investigative angles must be examined, including the unsavoury ones to make sure the campaign manager didn't do this to his own cat in some insanely counter-productive scheme to win sympathy votes. That being said in a political climate that demands people "Don't Retreat, Reload" I'm honestly surprised this type of political terror doesn't show up more often than it does, although with newspaper editors saying Israel should assassinate Obama, and Gabrielle Giffords retiring to focus on recovering from her assassination attempt I think this may become the new normal of American politics.
