So today is guilty pleasures day so I, like everybody else, am supposed to confess to liking stuff that's either sappy, lame, or just plain silly.

Yah, right.

I will confess to none of that. Instead I will confess that I have a soft spot for violent music filled with tales of the gritty street, where machismo and misogyny rules, where asses get capped in a hail of gunfire, and where lives are snuffed out in the gutter of despair and substance abuse.

Yes people, I confess. I like Johnny Cash. :-)

Much has been made of The Man in Black's life and musical legacy but here's a song that really blew me away the first time I heard it. It takes a talented musician to write and perform a hit song. It takes a master to reinterpret such a tune and make it a classic. Jimi Hendrix did it to Bob Dylan, and here Mr. Cash does it to Nine Inch Nails:
