Stolen from Nuranar
Dec. 15th, 2011 03:04 amSo here's just a few questions I'm answering. There has been very little content on this blog lately so I'd like to remedy that before the holidays hit.
1. What was one of the best Christmas presents you have ever received?
The watch my mother had repaired for me. She still doesn't know I found out she was having it fixed and I have no intention of ever telling her. I like the O. Henry-esque bent to the story.
2. What was your first car, and how long did it last for you?
Never had one. The economy is so bad where I live I can't afford one.
3. What's your favorite comedian or comedy team from early film/TV (through 1960)?
I'm going to say the Marx Brothers just because I saw more of their stuff growing up on Saturday Night at the Movies. Bing Crosby and Bob Hope have to get some consideration though.
4. What non-winter-time holidays do you decorate for?
Halloween always got some decorations growing up, as did Easter. I don't decorate much anymore though.
5. Preferred habitat: Urban, suburban, or rural, and why?
I'm comfortable in all three.
6. Austen or Brontë?
I've never read any Jane Austen actually but I'm going to say I prefer her, just because I HATE Wuthering Heights.
7. Would you prefer to have a wonderful singing voice, or to play your musical instrument of choice as a master?
I'd like to go the Mark Knopfler route myself. If he opens his mouth, you know its him. If he picks a single note on his strat, its him too.
8. What was your least-favorite book read this year?
"What Maisie Knew" by Henry James. Actually, anything by Henry James can qualify.
9. Would you rather garden or cook?
Cook, although I'm not very good at it.
10. Sew or knit/crochet?
I can hem pants, does that count?
11. Fires: Wood fireplace, wood stove, gas logs, chiminea, fire pit, or other?
Our water lines lived and died some days by the skills I developed as a kid keeping the wood stove going, but fire places have better ambience.
