I have to congratulate Alberta's Progressive Conservative party on winning their 12th straight election and keeping their streak of 41 consecutive years in power alive. They've already passed the Social Credit Party of Alberta's 36 year streak a few years back and with this victory its almost assured that they'll break the Progressive Conservatives of Ontario's record of 42 years.

You know, my American brother in law once told me he used to wonder if Canadians made kings in our political system and at the time I kinda laughed it off, but maybe he had a point. When the big story is "Will the dynasty die?" rather than "Which party will form the new government?"  you have to wonder if that factors into some voters sense of apathy.

Just thinking aloud, that's all.
