Ah Shit. Now I feel like an asshole

Well, I have to admit that I was wrong with the Riot Nookie photo. It wasn't actually two crazies getting it on while people went on a destruction spree. It was actually a guy comforting his girlfriend after they got roughed up during a fight between rioters and riot police.

I do apologize for posting that in the context I did. I've seen some crazy people do some crazy things, so two people making out in the road while a city burns isn't really that much of a stretch for my imagination, at least anymore than idiots deciding to riot after a hockey game for whatever reason. Unfortunately I forgot a cardinal rule of posting things: Check the facts, first. I didn't do that, and as a result I engaged in some bad blogging.

I'm going to leave that post as is though, mainly as a reminder to me of how easy it is to get things wrong. Sometimes having a record of a mistake is a good thing.

We all do this. Most people would have assumed as much. Your 'Riot Nookie' post cracked me up. After seeing those riots a little humour was something I needed. I was really embarassed for Vancovuerites and all Canadians. I just hope in the future the photo is used in a good context. Sort of like Robert Doisneau's work.
