The Rideau Centre shooting apparently didn't happen

Well some good news here. The concern over multiple gunmen stemmed from a report from an incident after the shooting inside the Hall of Honour. If that didn't happen then it looks like the gunman shot the soldier, made his way to the Parliament Buildings, and died there. If that's the case then its possible we may be looking at a lone wolf and maybe this is over.

I hope so but the damn thing about lone wolves is you never know where they are until they come out.

This is going to be a long day for a lot of people. :(

It was indeed a long day for those in downtown Ottawa and locally. I wasn't at my job in the highrise within the lockdown perimeter but both my husband and son were at their places of employment. My son works a part-time job at a brew pub one block from the Hill. He was finally let go about 6:30 p.m. Not only am I feeling somewhat dazed, just looking at people in stores and places like Timmy's I'm noting the deer-in-headlights look in everyone else. It's been surreal to say the least. The young Corporal killed at the cenotaph is just a heartbreaking tragedy. Not been a good day. :(
