...especially since retiring my CRT monitor in favour of a much larger LCD. Seriously, the eyestrain I was feeling off of that thing had me debating if my gatorade had been spiked with acid, or if I was just having a stroke. Needless to say buying the monitor is money well spent.

In other news I've been organizing my iTunes library a bit, mainly by genre, since I find having 3000+ songs listed as "Rock"* to be a less than ideal situation when trying to pick the right music for the mood. While I really like both Fairport Convention and the Scorpions their tunes don't always mix well, if you know what I mean. Plus I get to unleash my inner musical history geek and group things together in ways that tell a story of how certain artists relate to each other, which is quite fun, in a nerdy sort of way.

And back to your regularly scheduled programming.

*Rinse and repeat in other genres like "Country", "Classical", "Metal" and others and you can see why I want to do this.

When I went grocery shopping today I walked past a very large number of anti-abortion protesters, all of whom had signs, who were supported by a few pickup trucks carrying anti-abortion signs driving up and down the street. Since this isn't something one normal encounters on a usual Walmart visit I decided to do the only appropriate thing and deliberately walk down the sidewalk they were standing beside to see what would happen.

As expected, other than a mixture of car honks and middle finger salutes from passing drivers, nothing of note happened. Well, I did have to move over about 9 inches to avoid hitting an octogenarian with my grocery bag on the way back, and one man in his forties politely smiled at me, but neither of these qualify as obstructing traffic or confrontating passerbys in my rational, politically centrist mind. Likewise none of the signs had any messages or images that could be considered obscene or likely to inspire violence. While I have some fundamental differences of opinion with the anti-abortion crowd I cannot dispute that their protest was a textbook case of how to express your opinion in a noticeable yet civil way, and for that I must tip my hat to them.

This clip from 1973's Karate Girl has gone viral. Sit back and be blown away by the acting. :-)
