Well, I managed to get some of my Christmas shopping done, take my movie rental back, and get something to eat. Now I just need to read some Edith Wiarton and get my records together for the doctor tomorrow.

And in honour of our local weather, and because I don't have enough Gord in my life, here is a little something to enjoy. This guy did a great video on this.

Oh, and that's not ocean footage. That's a lake doing that. :-)

That's an awesome video I hadn't seen it so thanks! I recall the whole event and the ensuing release of the song. Having been at Pancake Bay a few years ago I was amazed how Gord's lyrics so completely captured the whole story and fairly accurately. Although recently I heard there were some new findings and they may have to tailor the song. Can't remember exactly what they were.

I've canoed Gitchee Gumee (believe me close to shore) and experienced one minute calm waters and the next the churning that made me get off the water. One night sleeping along nearby its shores we barely slept for the violence of the waves pounding hard on the shore. It was such a violent thunderous sound. And that was in August. Can't imagine seeing that water in the gales of November.

So a Gord fan, eh? ;)

I had to canoe through six footers on Lake Missanaibie in May during a canoe trip. You don't want to do that.

As I heard they found it a few years back and it looks like the line "she might have broke up" was the right call. They apparently found her in two pieces with ore sprayed over a large area...and on the top of the ship, as though part sank before the other.
